4th Training on 30th May 2009

Dear all,

There will be NPRCD meet on this coming Saturday (30th May 2009)
Thank you.

This is also the last week for you guys to practice figure of 8 and/or doughnut for training.
This is also the last training before there will be no club training for two weeks due to common test.

Training will resume on 20th June 2009.

After the common test week, we will have a interclub event on 20th June 2009, mentioned on the last training post. CCA points will be awarded.

All of you will be assessed on your current rank on your drift skills. This will be recorded and post on the blog to show who is improving and who is not to have a gauge of yourself compared to your teammates.

Summary of 1st to 4th training week:
- Basics of running a remote control car
- All-you-need-to-know terms and jargons in RC language
- Basics of knowing the electronics and parts in a car
- Attempting to drift using your car when not setup to drift
- Basics of setting a car to drift
- Learning how to engage your car into a drift
- Learning how to do a doughnut with your car

As usual, if you are not sure of any of the above still, you still can practice on your own or request us for help.
Assuming now that you have learnt the above well, this is the plan for the next four weeks from 5th to 8th training week:

5th to 8th training week:
20th June, 27th June, 4th July, 11th July

- Learning how to drift in a track
- All-you-need-to-know terms and jargons in RC Drift Track (dori-dori, hairpins, big sweeper and etc)
- Importance of understeer and oversteer
- Intermediate knowledge of setting a car to drift/drift troubleshoot
- Judging criterias in drifting (SGDrifters standards)

3rd Training on 23th May 2009

Dear all,

There will be NPRCD meet on this coming Saturday (23th May 2009)
Thank you.

Like last week:
To all new members, please continue to practise your figure of 8 this coming saturday. As Zhi Rong told some of you, learning figure of 8 teaches you how to get your direction orientation correctly. At the same time, do try to break grip and slide as much as possible.

Remember, if you require assistance or any queries, you can find us. As you are starting to learn how to drift, there are times where you will have to do certain things repeatively which may be boring but remember to have fun while you learn :)

- For those who are wondering, on the 5th Training week training, we will review on your drift skill level.

- For those who don't want to keep drifting in school, remember the drift meet dates stated on the side of this blog. Remember to contact the person-in-charge before going to a drift meet. Recommend that you go for Tuesday's Ulu Pandan Drift Meet.

Additional notes:
We have noticed that some of you have no personal tools of your own. So, this saturday we will introduce a few of the equipment you should purchase at a local DIY shop.

Events:
There will be an interclub event on 20th Jun 2009. No further details are revealed yet.
